The Park

We’re working to make Gordon Public Park a thriving neighbourhood hub for all of us

Gordon Public Park is crown land administered by the Department of Environment Land Water and Planning (DELWP) and managed by a committee appointed by the Minister for Energy, the Environment and Climate Change.

In 2019 a new committee was appointed:

  • Chair: Heidi Johnson
  • Secretary and Treasurer: Dina Bowman
  • Ordinary members: Victoria Cullen and Maureen Leverett.

We acknowledge the many people who have come before us who have worked hard to make the park a vital community asset. We particularly acknowledge former committee members including Leisa Conroy, Therese Winter, Mary-Teresa Ritchie, and the support of the late Pat Toohey, former long-standing Moorabool Shire councillor for Woodlands Ward.

The park has a hall with a kitchen, meeting room and toilets. The park features tennis courts, a small playground, drinking fountain, public toilets and is developing a community garden.

The park hosts the Gordon Tennis Club, Gordon Pottery Group and Gordon Garden Group. We welcome other users.

We’re working hard to establish a Gordon community garden and food swap. A Master Plan was developed in 2014 – with plans for a skate space and half-basketball court. We are in discussions with Moorabool Shire Council and others about funding these upgrades, and we’re updating the plan.

We receive some funding support from the Moorabool Shire Council towards maintenance costs – like mowing the grass and cleaning the toilets. We also acknowledge the support of:
